Amber weapons
From the OblivioWiki – your guide to everything Oblivion
Amber weapons are one of the two new weapon sets in The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles expansion. For these weapons you must collect amber and give it to the craftsman in The Missing Pauldron in Bliss who will make amber armor or weapons at your request. If you wish the weapon to be enchanted you must also collect the proper matrices for each item. When you make an enchanted item the matrix for it will be removed from your inventory.
Note: Keep in mind, that even though Amber weaponry is powerful, it has no effect on spectral entities such as ghosts and wraiths, unless enchanted,of course.
Keep in mind that these crafted items, along with items forged from madness ore, are leveled items. For more details, see the specific page for the weapon you are looking for, listed below. There is no difference between forged madness and amber weapons of the same type (i.e. longsword), unless they are of a different level. Waraxes and claymores cannot be made from amber, only madness ore.
[edit] Weapons
- Amber Arrow – requires 1 piece of amber for 25 arrows
- Amber Bow – requires 2 pieces of amber
- Amber Hammer – requires 4 pieces of amber
- Amber Mace – requires 2 pieces of amber
- Amber Sword – requires 3 pieces of amber
[edit] Enchanted Weapons
These items can be enchanted if the proper matrix is provided when they are made. The enchantment strength and quality of the weapon is leveled and therefore depends on when the character had the weapon made. All amber and madness weapons have the same leveled damage health enchantment.
