Blades

The Blades are an elite order of knights sworn to protect the Emperor. Its members are sworn to secrecy and the protection of the Emperor and follow the orders of the Emperor.

The duty of the Blades is to provide the Emperor with protection, however they can also be involved in more clandestine operations such as intelligence gathering.

When members of the Blades retire or are unable to serve the emperor through combat, they become monks of Talos. Talos is the name given to Tiber Septim (the first emperor of Tamriel) after he underwent apotheosis to become the ninth divine.

The Blades are headquartered north of Bruma in the Jerall Mountains at Cloud Ruler Temple. The current Grandmaster of the Blades is Jauffre.

It is possible to finish the main quest without ever directly joining the Blades as a faction.
