Caranya is an Altmer mage and the councillor and left hand of Arch-Mage Traven.
She is involved in the quest The Necromancer's Amulet.
In that quest, she decides to take the Necromancer's Amulet to Fort Ontus for safe-keeping, and the player will get the mission to find her there and retrieve the amulet. When talking to her, it is revealed that she has joined the Necromancers.
