Clannfear

From the OblivioWiki – your guide to everything Oblivion

The Clannfear is the base daedric foot soldier, and resemble a Protoceratops dinosaur. They are quite strong, fast, and have large, ovular heads. At higher levels, the Clannfear will be replaced by the Daedroth.

[edit] Notes

  • Clannfear reflects a certain percentage of melee damage.
  • Annoyingly hard to kill, even for a strong fighter, for mages and ranged combatants they're a huge pain. Best way to kill them is to Paralyze them and then just hack them to pieces while they're incapacitated.
  • Melee combat isn't recommended to confront Clannfears. Ranged Weapons, Magic Shock damage or damage health spells are the best option, you can also try to drain their fatigue with a spell or enchanted weapon, so they can't stand and attack back. Just try to block their attacks or fall back while casting spells or attacking with ranged weapons.
  • When Clannfear attack, they usually run around to find a beeline directly to you. Standing still won't work well. However, once they establish the beeline, they don't move side to side. Hit them with arrows or magic for an easy kill.
  • Their head-butt attack can knock you down if your agility is low.
  • Can be summoned as an ally/minion using the Expert level Conjuration spell Summon Clannfear.
  • Clannfear may find it difficult to climb some steeper stairs, such as those in the Kvatch gatehouse. Climbing up stairs and using magic or ranged attacks is quite effective, though the Clannfear may try and jump towards you and reach the top of the stairs.
