Conjuration
From the OblivioWiki – your guide to everything Oblivion
Conjuration is a magic arts skill that allows a player to summon Daedric and undead servants, magical weapons and armor, and turn the undead. The Chorrol Mages' Guild specializes in Conjuration. This takes the least amount of time to train on your own out of all the magic schools.

[edit] Leveling tips
- Summoning a Skeleton and casting Turn Undead on it over and over is a very quick way to train this skill.
- Casting Bound Dagger and putting it away right away is another quick way to train the skill.
- If you have access to the Arcane University, or if you have the Frostcrag Spire expansion, you can create a spell for Bound Dagger with a duration of 1 second. This will enable you to cast the spell repeatedly (without having to put the dagger away) for minimal magicka cost.
- Summoned creatures are a great way to train combat related skills without ever having to leave home.
- As experience is not based on the level or cost of the spell cast, one should cast the cheapest spell in the school possible as rapidly as possible if they want to level the skill as quickly as possible. Holding block increases casting speed considerably.

[edit] NPC Dialogue
When your conjuration is 70 or over, NPCs will say, "You smell of death! Been conjuring up dead things?"
[edit] Usefulness
Conjuration is quite easy to level up quickly. Each casting raises a large chunk of the conjuration level up meter. Conjuration is great with a sneaky character because you can hide in sneak mode and repeatedly summon creatures until the enemy eventually dies. All the while your opponents don't even know you're around. Conjuration is useful for evening the odds in a fight with multiple opponents. As its level raises, the magicka requirements for conjurations spells are reduced. Conjuration spells that require Mastery always summon a creature that is exactly your level. Many mages can summon a creature and then paralyze opponents in order to allow the summoned monster to beat the helpless opponent into the ground. This is a useful tactic when a mage finds himself backed into a corner. Also, if you have access to the Arcane Academy, it's a good idea to buy all of the bound armor spells and combine them into one spell with the maximum duration (2 minutes). This is cool because it enables you to walk around looking like a dremora without even having to carry any armor in your inventory.
[edit] Notes
- A downside is that there is no bound warhammer spell, the daedric warhammer has the highest base damage of any weapon and one of the heaviest weapons in the game which would be weightless if summoned.
- Attacking any summoned creature three times will turn it against you. It may even attack other non enemy characters and if it kills them, you will get blamed for it.
- Summoned creatures can be soultrapped.
- There is a way to make conjured equipment permanent, explained here
- The reanimate spell is not available for use as a spell, only the Staff of Worms has the ability to cast it. (Unless you have the Shivering Isles expansion.)
- The spell Summon Dremora Lord cannot be learnt after the quest A Plot Revealed starts as Volanaro (the only seller of the spell) is dead once you enter the Bruma Mages Guild.
