[edit] Shortsword

Shortswords are one-handed swords. They are smaller and less damaging than a longsword of the same material, but are lighter, cheaper, and have quicker attack speed. They generally have a (20%) faster attack speed and (20%) shorter reach. The shorter reach makes it easier to avoid accidentally hitting friendly NPCs or creatures.
