[edit] Background Information

As you, the Emperor and his guards are fleeing the prison, Mythic Dawn enemies attack. The Emperor will give you the Amulet of Kings to deliver to Jauffre at Weynon Priory before he is killed.

[edit] Walkthrough

Find Jauffre, the Blades Grandmaster, at Weynon Priory, just southeast of Chorrol. Once you do, talk to him and return the Amulet of Kings. Also, tell him the Emperor's last words. He will tell you about Mehrunes Dagon, a Daedric Prince in Oblivion. Jauffre will tell you of Martin, the late emperor's illegitimate son. Martin is a priest, and must be brought to Jauffre, which leads to the next quest, "Find the Heir."

While at Weynon Priory, take the time to check out the items sitting around, which may be of some interest.

Use your Paint Horse to travel to Kvatch. You could fast-travel, but the countryside really is too pretty to be ignored.

[edit] Journal Entries

After delivering the amulet to Jauffre:

I found Jauffre and gave him the Amulet of Kings. The Emperor's words to me filled him with foreboding. Mehrunes Dagon, the Lord of Destruction, is one of the princes of Oblivion, the demonic world. Jauffre fears that with no Emperor on the throne, the daedra from Oblivion may be able to invade our world.

After speaking to Jauffre:

Jauffre told me that the Emperor has an illegitimate son named Martin who is currently serving as a priest in the Chapel of Akatosh in the city of Kvatch. I must proceed to Kvatch at once and bring Martin safely back to Weynon Priory.
