Drain spells of the Destruction Magic School cause a temporary decrease of either the targets Health, Magicka, Fatigue, Attributes or Skills.The player cannot gain or make Drain Attribute spells without the console or mods.

Drain health for 1 second is far cheaper Magicka-wise than damage health, and allows you to put a big chunk of fake damage on a target for a finishing blow, however if the death blow does not kill the opponent the damage will wear off before you can get another hit in. For even more fun enchant a weapon with this spell.
