Ebony armor

Ebony armor is thick and rare, crafted from a rare form of volcanic glass buried in the lava flows from Vvardenfell's Red Mountain. The armor is so named because of its opaque, jet black, glossy surface. It can be found as loot and off of enemies once you reach level fifteen, but it can be looted off of Umbra before this, bows and shields have appeared before level fifteen. It is only second to Daedric armor as the best heavy armor. Compared to its Morrowind counterpart, Ebony armor in Oblivion seems to be in very poor condition, it has lost its glossy finish and appears to be very dirty, compared to the beautiful Glass armor and glowing-red Daedric armor.
