[edit] History

Elsweyr is the only region in Tamriel to have established itself in the Second Era. It was in the year 2E 309 that Keirgo of Anequina to the north and Eshita of Pellitine to the south set aside their differences and combined their two kingdoms to create Elsweyr. However, not without difficulties. Power shifted between the two former kingdoms, and lesser chieftains signed pacts amongst themselves, prompting escalating violence, threatening to tear up dreams of a united Elsweyr. The province of Elsweyr is also very active in the Skooma trade.

It was the Khajiit spiritual leader, the Mane, who eventually put a stop to the violence by getting all sides to agree to a rotating power between the sides based on the phases of two moons, under the supervision of the Mane himself.

[edit] Places of interest

[edit] Senchal

Located on the shores of the Topal Sea, Senchal is the largest port in southern Tamriel. Various establishments that cater to merchants can be found in the city, such as taverns, bazaars, and markets. As is the case with Imperial City Waterfront, beggars, thieves, and pirates can be found there. One section of the city in particular is particularly dangerous for inexperienced travelers, namely Black Keirgo. Parts of the city are abandoned or in bad shape following a severe epidemic.

[edit] Torval

Torval is a city in the western part of the province, on the border with Valenwood. Humans are forbidden to enter the city. This is attributed to the fact that Torval is the home of the Khajiit spiritual leader, the Mane. Because of this, the city is also perhaps the wealthiest in Elsweyr.

[edit] Rimmen

The name of the city of Rimmen comes from the name the Khajiit gave to the Akaviri, the "Rim Men". The city is located right on the border with Cyrodiil.
