Hannibal Traven

Hannibal Traven is the current arch-mage of the Mage's Guild and author of The Black Arts on Trial. His first decision after becoming Arch-Mage was to ban Necromancy, leading to a good deal of resentment from the now ex-guild mages. He is the second quest giver in the Mages Guild proper, after Raminus Polus

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

During the quest Confront The King, Traven sacrifices himself and binds his soul into a Colossal Black Soul Gem so that the player will be immune to Mannimarco, the King of Worm's Worm Thrall ability, and so able to destroy him .
