Health

From the OblivioWiki – your guide to everything Oblivion

Health Image:Health-icon.png is the total amount of damage that a character can take before dying. Referred to as Hit Points (HP) in most games, it is vitally important for the player to keep track of his or her health score. If the current Health total reaches zero, the character will die.

A character's total base Health is equal to twice his or her Endurance attribute.

[edit] Raising Health

The primary way to permanently raise Health is to level up and to raise the character's Endurance score when leveling up. The Health maximum increases at a rate of one-tenth the Endurance score per level up.

The bonus health gain from leveling up is not retroactive. Therefore, it is most advantageous to build up your Endurance early on. However, future changes in Endurance will still change your base Health.
