Mankar Camoran
From the OblivioWiki – your guide to everything Oblivion
The alleged Altmer leader (also referred to as The Master) of the Mythic Dawn, a cult of Daedra worshippers in service to Mehrunes Dagon. He is also an author and the ruler of Paradise. According to the in-game book The Refugees, Camoran is the child of the Camoran Usurper and his Bosmeri mistress who rightly predicted his influence on the world of Tamriel.
He has two children who are also part of the Mythic Dawn, his son Raven Camoran and daughter Ruma Camoran. In the main oblivion quest, Mankar Camoran stole the amulet of kings and took it to his paradise.

[edit] Commentaries on the Mysterium Xarxes
Mankar Camoran's Commentaries on the Mysterium Xarxes is a four-volume set of books written by Camoran. The Commentaries are sought after by those who wish to join the Mythic Dawn. To join it, a potential initiate must find a secret meaning hidden within the books. The player character uses the books to recover the Amulet of Kings from Camoran.
The books are:
- Commentaries on the Mysterium Xarxes: Book One
- Commentaries on the Mysterium Xarxes: Book Two
- Commentaries on the Mysterium Xarxes: Book Three
- Commentaries on the Mysterium Xarxes: Book Four
[edit] Speech
During the Paradise quest, Mankar gives a fascinating speech as the player progresses, however this speech may be based on false assumptions or a deliberate attempt to decieve the player as it contradicts several established facts, in particular the attributions of Coldharbour to Molag Bal (The Doors of Oblivion), Quagmire to Vaermina (The Doors of Oblivion), and Moonshadow to Azura (The Book of Daedra). Though some books attribute the creation of Nirn (and thus Tamriel) to Lorkhan, that doesn't necessarily imply that it is a plane of Oblivion (The Lunar Lorkhan). Mankar may be making a fundamental mis-assumption that because Lorkhan is Padomaic, he is by default Daedric.
