Nirn
From the OblivioWiki – your guide to everything Oblivion
(Redirected from Mundus)
Nirn is the name of the planet on which Oblivion takes place. It is also known as Mundus. Nirn is Ehlnofex for The Elder Scrolls: Arena. Tamriel is the main continent on Nirn. Other continents include Akavir (east of Tamriel), Yokuda (west of Tamriel), the uninhabitable Atmora (North of Tamriel), the lost continent of Aldmeris (south of Tamriel), and Pyandonea (if it can be considered a continent, is home of the Maormer, or Tropical Elven kingdom). Nirn has two moons called Masser and Secunda, which is 'Jone' and 'Jode' in the Ehlnofex. Nirn is one of nine planets, the others are linked to the Eight Divines.
It is possible, and likely, that the Nirnroot inherits its name from Nirn.
