[edit] The Palace
New Sheoth Palace is the home of Sheogorath, the Prince of Madness. and the two great houses of his realm, the House of Mania and the House of Dementia. The palace is located in New Sheoth and it's courtyard is divided in half between Dementia and Mania with connections to Crucible in the south and Bliss in the north. In the House of Mania lives Lord Thadon, and it's guarded by Golden Saints. In the house of Dementia lives Lady Syl and it's guarded by Dark Seducers.
In the throne room resides the madgod Sheogorath and his butler and advisor Haskill. The hall itself is split according Mania and Dementia and the throne itself sits directly on the border. It's guarded by both Golden Saints and Dark Seducers. You will usually come here for the Shivering Isles main quest. Each time you finish a part of the main quest, a trophy of your triumph will be placed in the throne room.
The House of Mania exists out of a garden and a hall. It is a very colourful place (except the hall), and resembles the Mania of all Shivering Isles. The House of Dementia exists out of several rooms. Most of them are bedrooms, but there are more interesting rooms like the torture chamber and Lady Syl's escape route (more on that in the main quest). It has a dark setting to resemble Dementia.
Once you have finished the main quest, you will own New Sheoth Palace.
