OblivioWiki talk:Collaborations
From the OblivioWiki – your guide to everything Oblivion
So when one article (or group of articles in the same field) is voted on and becomes the Community Collaboration, do we start the nominations over? Or do we pick up from where we were? I'd go with the former, if only there were people voting on collaborations. ;) Anyways, it's time to do something, since I think Tamriel has been the Community Collaboration for a week or so. I'd say, keep it up for another week, but change both Coll. and Feat. Art. after that. --Patito 16:12, 19 September 2006 (CDT)
- Ya I'd say do the former as well. With the pace of this site tho, I think that at least the collaboration article should only be changed every 2 weeks instead of one week. \*\ Hellhound43 17:35, 19 September 2006 (CDT)
- Agreed. About two weeks for collaborations sounds good. For FAs, possibly the same at two weeks; otherwise we'd need to have a new FA every week, which is almost as tough as collaboration work.
- Sorry guys that I've been very slow lately. College has been eating up most of my time (as I'm sure life does the same with you guys), but I still check the site quite often. I just haven't found the time to actually add significant amounts of content like I used to over the summer. --theSpectator talk 00:51, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
- Hey don't feel bad about it or be sorry, College is eating up my time too. I haven't been doing too much contributing over the past week either since I'm focusing on getting up a map for the flora of Tamriel which will probably be done in a couple weeks. Oh and playing Oblivion too :-). For the moment however I think we should start thinking about which collaboration to post next. The Ingredients (since I'm already making a map for it)? \*\ Hellhound43 09:08, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
- A change of F.A. and C. every two weeks (or so) works with me. And I understand about College. About the next C., sure Ingredients is OK by me if you're up for it. Support it on the project page. :P --Patito 09:16, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
[edit] Tamriel Collaboration
Do you guys feel that Tamriel (and related articles) has sufficiently been expanded? If it still needs some work, there are three options (which could also apply to future collaboration articles):
- Keep Collaboration status/tag, and leave it on the front page until it has been expanded enough.
- This would mean that we'd only have one collaboration at a time and the amount of time for Main Page exposure would vary from article-to-article until it had enough info ("enough" being subjective).
- If this were the case, we could have a vote to determine if an article has enough info to be removed from Collaboration status.
- Keep Collaboration status/tag, but remove it from the front page and replace it with a new Collaboration article.
- It would still retain the Collaboration tag and still be listed under the OblivioWiki:Collaborations page. This would mean that we could have multiple Collaboration articles.
- This would generally follow the 2-3 week rule for Main Page exposure only, but still be a Collaboration even afterwards, if needed.
- Remove Collaboration status/tag and replace it with a new Collaboration article regardless of amount of content added.
- This would mean that we'd have only one Collaboration at a time, each would be a Collaboration for the 2-3 week period, and then removed from Collaboration status, regardless of the amount of content added.
The outcome here would also apply to future Collaboration articles. Obviously, if an article is complete, near-complete, or expanded enough to no longer warrant Collaboration status, then we'd remove it from the list. What're your thoughts? --theSpectator talk 13:22, 25 September 2006 (CDT)
- I think the second option would be best, as the Tamriel article and it's related content still needs alot of work, but we also can't ignore everything else, such as the Fighter's Guild or Ingredients pages. As far the Tamriel article is concerned, each provincial article still needs expanding, and I'm currently workin on the History articles. Then I also need to start with the Tribunal section of Morrowind. This is in addition to working on any other collaborations selected in the future. \*\ Hellhound43 13:35, 25 September 2006 (CDT)
