[edit] Criteria

We need some basic criteria as to what a featured article is. Any thoughts? --theSpectator talk 00:06, 28 August 2006 (CDT)

To me, a featured article should have:
  • Complete, detailed and accurate information on the appropiate topic.
  • As few red links as possible while still linking to *all* important or related imformation.
  • Contain "proper" formatting.
    • It must be easy to read and understand.
      • Well organized, proper word choices.
      • No spelling or grammar errors.
    • Must be clean and detailed while still remaining concise.
My two cents, Hellhound43 11:33, 28 August 2006 (CDT)
I completely agree. I'll start wording the criteria. Any other input is welcome. --theSpectator talk 16:38, 29 August 2006 (CDT)
Now that I've thought about it, and I know you've commented on it elsewhere, but we should get a better icon than that bronze star for featured articles. I was thinking, maybe something a bit more Oblivion-oriented (maybe the Oblivion main logo itself, like the one on the main page but smaller?). I can't really think of anything else that would make a good symbol right now but if I think of anything I'll post it here. Hellhound43 17:25, 29 August 2006 (CDT)
I've been thinking about my last comment for the past month and just today I thought perhaps instead of using the standard oblivion symbol (the daedric letter "oht") we could use the daedric letters FA (Hefhed-Ayem, see this page). I could edit a pic (.png format?) to include those two letters. Let me know what you think Spec. \*\ Hellhound43 15:27, 25 September 2006 (CDT)
Sure! Give it a go. --theSpectator talk 21:03, 25 September 2006 (CDT)

[edit] Time for a new article

I think it's about time we had a new featured article. Any suggestions? \*\ Hellhound43 22:23, 24 January 2007 (CST)

Dark Brotherhood or House articles. But the house article needs articles for each of the houses I think. DB gets my vote! -}- SOTS 21:20, 25 January 2007 (GMT)
Don't forget to support it at OblivioWiki:Featured article candidates. --theSpectator talk 19:04, 25 January 2007 (CST)
Good enough for me, I'll put it up along with my appearance changes. \*\ Hellhound43 19:30, 25 January 2007 (CST)

It's that time again I think, we need a new featured article since it has been almost a month. Any suggestions this time around? I'm thinking the house article, with a little bit of work in separating the article and expanding the descriptions of individual houses (geez, this almost sounds like I'm giving it a collaboration, hehe). \*\ Hellhound43 11:13, 22 February 2007 (CST)

Should we put it forward for a collab as well, then? :) -}- SOTS 21:38, 22 February 2007 (GMT)
LOL, maybe we should ;). \*\ Hellhound43 17:30, 22 February 2007 (CST)
I'm up for either house or plants/ingredients as collaborations, especially since we were talking about merging ingredients with their respective plants. I think house needs a bit more work (e.g. more information), especially with the "incidental" properties and the mod houses (brief descriptions) before FA status.
As for another featured article, I'm not sure. I'd like to put up another quest article. However, after browsing through some of the side quests, I think a lot of them need one or two pictures/maps/other images to make them really nice. Most are good, but need some grammar/wording/phrasing checking. --theSpectator talk 20:46, 27 February 2007 (CST)
After looking through bits of the wiki, I'm thinking we could probably use something a little more generic such as the weapon or alchemy articles. Though I don't really have to time for a critical analysis as to the worthiness of these pages, they both seem reasonably complete and more or less all the relevant links are there and somewhat fleshed out. I'm not sure what else there is to really add to the combat page, but I suggest it regardless of the fact that there is a stub tag on it.
Some other articles that seem to have a lot of good content include the lockpicking and persuasion articles, though the persuasion article could use a few images.
As far as quests are concerned, we could use one of the Daedric Shrine quests, or the whole article itself. The Order of the Virtuous Blood might not be a bad article to feature (well, as soon as the journal entries are added, but that wouldn't take me long - I could do it over the next few days). The Siren's Deception looks good as well minus perhaps a few images, same for Through A Nightmare, Darkly, A Brush with Death, and Tears of the Savior.
Anyone have thoughts? We have a lot of material to work with really, it's just a matter if figuring out what's best. When I do change the Featured Article, I'll change the Collaboration to ingredients as well while I'm at it. \*\ Hellhound43 22:45, 27 February 2007 (CST)

Thats a great idea and I'm also working on those quest or just starting them.--ShakenMike 00:33, 28 February 2007 (CST)

Ok, I decided to go with Through A Nightmare, Darkly as the featured article, and I changed the collaboration to Ingredient. Any further suggestions or work on prospective future featured articles would be appreciated. \*\ Hellhound43 23:39, 2 March 2007 (CST)
