Ongar the World-Weary

From the OblivioWiki – your guide to everything Oblivion

Ongar the World-Weary is one of the Thieves Guilds main fences and will be your first contact if you join the guild. He offers fair prices for your stolen goods but only holds a small sum of 600 Image:GoldIcon.png to purchase those more valuable items you may steal. He will most likely be your main fence throughout the game due to his 'easy to find' nature and the extra disposition you gain with him during your trades. He can be found at his home in Bruma or Olav's Tap and Tack, also situated in the snowy city. The best way to achieve the full 1000 gold needed to complete all of the Thieves Guild quests is to buy all of Ongar's lockpicks, go to the Arcane University in the Imperial City. As you enter the very first room you will notice a case, inside it there are 3 Grand Soul Gems, 2 with a value of 500 gold and one with a value of 200 gold. First of all, save your game. Make sure no one can see you and try to unlock it. It is a very hard lock so be patient and click away. Once opened, loot the case and fast travel back to Bruma. Max your disposition with Ongar and you should be able to get the 1000 fenced done straight away. Note that if you are a member of the Mages Guild you won't be able to do this because it won't count as stolen.
