Sanguine Rose

From the OblivioWiki – your guide to everything Oblivion

The Sanguine Rose is a staff that is acquired by completing the quest for Sanguine at the Shrine of Sanguine. When used on a target, the Sanguine Rose summons a random daedra. This daedra may fight for the target or for the player. Unlike the Sanguine Rose that appears in The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, which eventually wilts and is no longer in the player's possession, the Sanguine Rose in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion stays in the player's inventory and is rechargeable with the use of soul gems, like all other magical staves. This item's potential is incredibly powerful, while though the daedra summoned is random, there is the chance you will summon a Xivilai, which in turn will summon a Clannfear.

[edit] Notes

  • Martin Septim claims he once possessed the Sanguine Rose if you give it to him for the Blood of the Daedra quest.
  • Varla Stones, found in Ayleid ruins, may also be used to recharge Sanguine Rose (Or to recharge any other enchanted item).
