Shield (armor)

Shields are broad pieces of armor strapped to the arm or carried in one hand that provide protection against melee attacks. They add defense bonuses and can be used to block attacks. Blocking with a shield will shave off more damage than blocking with just a weapon.

- Notes: "Base Value" refers to the actual value without mercantile or disposition affecting it. "Base Damage" refers to the base amount of damage an item can do, assuming maximum stats and skill.
