Talk:Potion
From the OblivioWiki – your guide to everything Oblivion
In the Alchemy main article, it's mentioned you can have only 4 potion active at the same time, while in this article it states: The amount of potions that can be in effect, will be determined by your Alchemy skill. So with increased skill and by mastering Alchemy, you will achieve a skill perk, that will allow your character to use more potions simultaneously. The total amount of potions that can be used, will so be fixed, when you have mastered Alchemy. The number of potions a character can have in effect at one time is not influenced by other effects from spells or enchantments. One of the two is obviously wrong, i don't know which, just thought i should mention it ~Remco~

The page says that your alchemy skill determines how many potions are in effect at the same time, which does not agree with the page on Alchemy.
