Possibly worth mentioning: Either there is a bug in the game, or Havilstein Hoar-Blood is a member of the Mage's Guild. I've witnessed someone do this quest and, upon finishing off Hoar-Blood, get in trouble with the Mage's Guild for killing a fellow member. (Though when he repeated the quest and brought Shadowmere along, he was able to assault and weaken Hoar-Blood with no problem or incident, so long as Shadowmere was the one who actually struck the killing blow.)

Looks like a bug, the Construction Set shows him as a member of the factions CreatureFaction, DarkBrotherhoodElite and HavilsteinFaction only. Possibly related to the bug where horses are sometimes considered members of guilds. Chirikov 20:50, 18 June 2006 (CDT)
