The Battle for Castle Kvatch quest becomes available immediately after Breaking the Siege of Kvatch, in Kvatch. Savlian Matius asks you to help clear the town castle and rescue the Count who remains inside. What you will fight will depend on your level, but the creatures will be Daedra, such as Flame Atronach and Scamps.

Talk to Salvian again, follow him out of the chapel, and fight to the front of the castle. The castle gate will be closed. Talk to Salvian and he'll ask you to go back into the chapel and talk to Berich Inian. When you re-enter the chapel, three Imperial Legion troopers (two soldiers and an archer) will be there and will walk up to you and offer there help to you,they also mention how they saw the smoke from the gold road. Berich won't give you the key, but will instead run downstairs into the Chapel Undercroft, where you get to fight more Daedra. Follow him through to back into Kvatch. If he dies (which most likely will happen), take the key from his pocket and make your way through the ruined city to a burned down tower.
Inside on the ground, you'll see a circular hatch that leads to a short underground passage. Run through, exit and you'll come up between two gates. Open the gates by turning the wheel at the top of the stairs. Savlian and more guards will come through and help you fight more Daedra. Afterwards, head inside the castle.
Inside the Castle Great Hall are even more Daedra. Fight them and then Salvian will wait for you while you look for Count Ormellius Goldwine. Head straight ahead and continue through another part of the Great Hall until you finally get to the Count's Quarters. Kill the daedra that is in there and click on the Count's body. You'll get a message to take the count's ring and return it to Salvian. Salvian will thank you for helping and give you his Kvatch Cuirass as a reward.
If you would like to scout the remainder of the castle, feel free as it is small, due to the destruction. However, there isn't much loot. There is a book, A Dance in Fire, v4 (75 gold, Acrobatics increase) in the main hall to the right which is worth looking for.
