Third Era
From the OblivioWiki – your guide to everything Oblivion
The Third Era is the current era of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and the other Elder Scrolls games. This era follows the Second Era, and has so far lasted 433 years as of TESIV:Oblivion. It began with the union of Tamriel under the banner of Tiber Septim (Talos) under the Third Empire of Men.
The most significant events of this era begin with the death of Tiber Septim after his long reign as Emperor of the Empire, followed in quick succession by several heirs. Later other events such as "The War of Red Diamond," the siege of Abernanit, the rampage of the Camoran Usurper (father of Mankar Camoran) in Valenwood rages, the Imperial Simulacrum of Jagar Tharn, the defeat of Dagoth Ur and the mortalization of the Tribunal by the Nerevarine, and of course the near-complete assassination of the Septim line. The Era ends when Martin Septim, last of the Septim Blood, turns into a dragon and defeats Mehrunes Dagon, but turning himself into stone in the end.
