Umaril in Meridia's Plane of Oblivion

This article is about the Umaril the Unfeathered the NPC. If you are looking for the quest, see Umaril the Unfeathered (quest).

Umaril the Unfeathered

Umaril the Unfeathered is the main villain featured in the official Knights of the Nine Expansion. He is commander of the Aurorans, a new type of daedric fighters equipped with Ayleid Battle Axes, that the character faces during your quest for the relics of the Crusader. Umaril wields a powerful claymore simply called "Umaril's Sword" which he wields with one of his massive hands. Umaril was defeated by the newly restored Knights of the Nine's Divine Crusader. Umaril's spirit fled back to Meridia's plane of Oblivion, as he had after losing to Pelinal Whitestrake, but the Divine Crusader used Talos's Blessing and followed him in, and finished him off for good.

[edit] History

Umaril was originally a powerful Ayleid tyrant. He was dealt a mortal blow by Pelinal Whitestrake, companion to St. Alessia and Divine Crusader of the Nine Divines. Pelinal was then slain by his minions. However, due to Umaril's great power, his spirit survived in Meridia's Plane of Oblivion, and eventually his body was reforged as the Ayleid tyrant planned to conquer Cyrodill once again...

[edit] Behind the Scenes

Umaril's armor is nearly identical in appearance to his Auroran soldiers; with one most destinctive difference. On his back there are branch like limbs, thus came his name "Umaril the Unfeathered". Also the place where you fight Umaril is in fact not Meridia's realm it is most likely what is commonly referred to as Aetherius as you encounter Pelinal Whitestrake there
